Default Removing Chrome

Please Login to Remove!

So I have an 8820 and I just removed the chrome on my trackball ring and I've been thinking it kind of looks a bit out of place with the buttons being chrome.

By the looks of it, the red and green on the buttons is under a layer of plastic. So would it be safe to attempt to strip the chrome with bleach?

Has anyone attempted to?

Thanks.
