Make sure in Options > Advanced Options > TCP you have the correct info for Vodafone.

Carrier specific APN/TCP settings - BlackBerryFAQ
If that's correct, call Vodafone and confirm they have your service properly provisioned.

You do have a genuine Blackberry data plan, right?

I also have similar problem.

I can browse the web and open normal webpages with my BB, for example I can open logicmail.org/ota
but when I click on the download link of the program (LogicMail.jad), I get an http error 500 message on my BB. (Strangely, it worked before I wiped my OS and reinstalled the OS again; now it doesn't work anymore and I don't know where to set anything).
When I browse the link mentioned above on a regular PC and click the link, the download works fine.

Another issue: I try to open a https site and get the error 502 bad gateway.

But web browsing works for some/most other website, and I checked applications securities (allowing all) and also checked that the firewall on BB is disabled.

(I don't have a data plan, I use China Mobile.)

Not sure what's exactly meant by data plan, so I clarify what I have:

I have a prepaid card of China Mobile (M-Zone) with GPRS internet access capability; also on my blackberry I see the little Edge icon on the right upper hand corner.

I can browse the web without a problem for most sites, but still have the problems as mentioned above with downloads (jad-file) and https sites.
