I'm currently experiencing about a half-hour delay from the time an email is sent to my Cingular BIS address to the time it's delivered to my BB. Are other Cingular BB users experiencing something similar?

I finally got thru to Cingular Blackberry support and a very helpful and diligent agent confirmed that RIM is experiencing server problems that's causing the delay I just described. Apparently, this started last night and continues today, with no estimate for when it might be resolved.

I'm not the least bit happy with this news, but I have to say that the Cingular tech I spoke with restored my shaky faith in Cingular. Now, my faith (or lack thereof) in RIM is an entirely different story...

Cingular does stink , but Verizon seems to be having similar issues as well.

That both Verizon and Cingular are experiencing the same problem confirms it: RIM dropped the ball here.

I haven't received any emails sent to my BIS address over the last hour. This is getting worse, not better.

Could any of this be regarding the fix or work around that RIM supposedly have with regards to the lawsuit, in other words are they getting things ready?

Not sure I think it is RIM. My 7100t from TMO is not working right now either. I thought maybe it was something wrong with my Gmail account forwarded to the BB but I tried to change all that and sent to the account...nothing. I am on hold right now with TMO support. This will make the second time this has happened.

I think it's indisputable that this is a problem with RIM. We have reports of delays with three different carriers. Furthermore, I can confirm that, at least in my case, the problem lies in that emails are not being received by the Blackberry server (webclient.blackberry.net).

I must say that my Alltel 7250 also has delays. It appears to be ok now though.

This is the second time within a month that this has happened. However to be fair to RIM, I think the first time was a Tmobile issue. Still annoying as hell though.

Down here in Knoxville, TN as well. I use Cingular 7290.

Also down/slow on t-mobile Albuquerque and Boston

I got through to the BB group at TMobile. After 40 min of hold time...they re-registered my phone (something I could have done...and did but it didnt work for me...I would still suggest trying it). All of the sudden...bam..it works, I have tested it for the last 10 min or so and everything is good again. Try re-registering with the network you are on. I have Tmobile in Michigan.

Thanks for the update and I'm glad things are working again for you. However, at least the problem I'm experiencing with Cingular is different. Here I can see on the Blackberry Webclient that my emails are arriving several hours delayed. Since you're with T-Mobile, you have an entirely different BIS system.

Verizon & Alltel in NC are having these issues as well.

The DNS records for the *.blackberry.net address are broken. There are no IP addresses in the A records, therefore the addresses don't resolve and mail servers can't send to the blackberry.net

We're seeing the problem with Cingular, VZW, T-Mobile and Nextel.

I'm happy to report that, at least in my case, instantaneous BIS email delivery has been restored. I hope it stays that way, and that everyone else's service is restored soon as well!
