Default 7780 Automatic E-mail Opening

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry 7780. It seems to open some messages automatically when I am working on it. Is there any way to disable this? I want to make it so no e-mail is opened unless I physically open it. Haven't been able to find anything on this. It is getting frustrating since e-mails will open themselves and when I go back later to check my new messages, I miss important e-mails since they have already been marked as read.

Let me know

By design when a new email comes in and the BlackBerry is in the holster, if you take it out of the holster within 60 seconds of the new mail alert it will automatically bring up the new email.

This cannot be changed/disabled.

Is this specific to the 7780? One of our users here has reported a problem where he's missing messages as they're marked as read when he hasn't seen them on his 7290.

Nope - it is not 7780 specific. What ZRo wrote is correct (but I believe it opens e-mails within around 20 seconds of them arriving). Only solution is NOT to remove the BB from the holster immediately after a message arrives.
