Default Problem with Verizon Blackberries?

Please Login to Remove!

One of my clients had their handheld knocked off the Blackberry network yesterday around 1pm Central -- no BES traffic or PIN messages to the device. After an hour on the phone with Verizon support, they swore up and down it was provisioned correctly and we would need to contact RIM. After insisting that it was a provisioning issue we were bumped to the next tier of support about 15 minutes later a new tech came online and said that a large number of handhelds were knocked off the network (didn't say if it was a RIM or Verizon issue), and reprovisioning would take an hour from now.

I had a major issue this morning, exact same problem. I ended up getting escalated 4 times, all the way to network support I believe. Once I got there it was fixed quickly. What made it worse was this was on a 7750, and they had me reset it a bunch of times. If it helps, the last guy gave me a ticket number, if they can't fix it, maybe that will have some info. The ticket number is 5816723.

I was getting pretty delayed messages yesterday.. about 2-3 hours behind..

today I'm getting a few emails here and there a little late, maybe an hour.. but about 90% of them are coming in on time..

That's the ticket I got as well. 40 minutes later they had it working again.

I'm just a little miffed (actually, my client moreso) that their first line tech was so adamant about this being a BES issue and wanting to push this off on me.

Yeah, they did the same to me, but when PIN messages didn't work, that pretty well solved that. I was on the phone for over 2 hours getting it to work. Once the last guy took over, it was fixed in under 3 minutes. He did say it was a problem on the RIM end, but couldn't answer why TSupport couldn't fix it, and how it would affect PIN messages. Only one of my devices had a problem, the other Verizon 7750s and 7250s were fine.

My Verizon 7250 went down yesterday at about 4pm EST. 20 mins on the phone with tech support and they had me back up. I had full a full signal but no browser or email/pin.

It was not just Verizon check other threads on this, it was Verizon, Nextel, Cingular, and possibly others.
