BB Curve screen light will not turn off?

Default BB Curve screen light will not turn off?

I'm going to be rather pissed if I need a new phone!

Yesterday I noticed the light would flash on randomly, then last night it wouldn't turn off and my phone was dead this morning. Right now the light stays on and randomly turns off then a nano second later turns back on. My battery is draining again. I changed no settings yesterday so have no clue how to fix this... Do I need a software update? I've had this phone for less than 2 months. Is it broken already?

I will be grateful for any help! It's a 8330 if that helps at all...

Welcome to the forums.

What is your Backlight timeout set to (Options > Screen/Keyboard)?

Do you use the holster/case? It puts the device in sleep mode which in turn conserves battery life.

Thanks for the welcome! Right now the auto dim option is set to "off" and the timeout is set to 10 seconds. Don't think I'm using a holster/case. Not sure what holster is, but I have a clip on pretty case but that is just so it has less of a chance of death when I accidentally send it flying. It was a cheap ebay thing that snaps on

Yes I have yanked the battery while the phone is on, and done numerous full power downs. I love the sig quote!

OEM cases have a magnet in them that puts the device in sleep mode, this helps conserve battery life. Do you know if your clip has a magnet?

No it doesn't have a magnet. It's a no name cheapy case/faceplate thing.

4.5.0.77 is all that's needed. You could try upgrading your OS to 4.5.0.138 and see if that corrects your issue. I am currently running that OS and I do not have the issue you're having. The OS can be found at the top of the 8300 forum.
