this is probably going to sound like a silly question, but I bought a 7100 on ebay and it has a security lock that is 16 digets that locks out the phone after 1 hour. my carrier is tmobile and they could not help me remove it. it does have some kind of it policy. do u know how to remove? the other question i had was that I don't have a data plan can I still download the thing that you are talking about that removes the it policy. thanks Mike

You can't remove IT policy from a 7100. However, you can install a blank one. Use "Method 2" of this post:

As it should. You wiped the OS off of the device. You need to reinstall the OS onto your device. Look at the top of the 8300 section for your OS and follow the steps in that thread.

it doesnt appear to let me download it. the link on the blackberry website only gives me an option to download the BES option and doesnt even once i click on that.
Really sorry for inconvenience but thought i had finally found a way and am now baffled and worried that i have wiped everything off!
Thanks

If your Bold was connected to a BES then "Resettofactory" will clean it off including the IT policy. If not then the options method is just as good.

If you "wipe" with JL_Cmder you will have a dead device and will have to reload the OS.

Are you still connected to the system that applied the IT policy restricting those features? If so, there is no way around it. In order to remove the policy you will be removed from the BES. Once you connect again the policy will be repushed to the device.

If you're no longer connected to that BES then you can remove the policy. You need to use the "resettofactory" command with JL_Cmder.

Ok i'm sure this will work but the reason i Dled the program was to get rid of the IT policy. But in order to do that i need to have Desk top manager connected to the phone which i can't because i don't have the PW to the policy...is there anyway i can work around this?

Thanks!

There is no IT Policy password, only a password to unlock the device itself. If you don't know that password then enter an incorrect password 10 times. It will wipe the device of all user data and prompt you to set your own password. At that point you can use JL_Cmder to resettofactory which will remove the IT policy completely.

Doug

Remember, please try searching first!

Need a screenshot? ... Like JavaLoader?
Try using BBscreen .....Use JL_Cmder!
or BBScreenShooter!

Default Not working - 10-02-2009, 12:46 PM

Hey,

Your app seems to be exactly what I need however I'm getting

"'JAVALOADER' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."

I tried adding it to the PATH but that hasn't changed anything.

I'm using Windows 7

Default JVM error 513 .. nothing is working!! - 10-05-2009, 04:45 PM

Hi, I got a AT&T blackberry 8310 yesterday which is about two years old. The phone was working fine until I connected to computer. First I installed newest version of blackberry desktop manager 5.0. Then It found some updates that were absolete in my device. So I started installing those updates, I think the latest OS 4.5, after a while it gave a fatal error message JVM 513. It shut down completely with the screen message JVM error 513 RESET. I have tried hard reset, soft reset. Then I foundg this forum. I ran the JL-Cmder as admin (I have Vista and it is 86x ). When I entered the command 4 to wipe the OS from my device, the black screen became red then it asked " if you want to continue erasing your whole device type 'blackberry', I did.. but nothing happend,. It did not do anything. When I entered 1 or 2 to check if the JL-Cmder working or not, it opend an empty notepad window. Please help.. I dont know what to do. I am not very technical but can manage some instructions!

Unhappy Wiped but can't upload os - 10-07-2009, 10:48 PM

Hi guys! I'm a newbie!

I have successfully wiped my sprint curve 8330, however I cannot upload the os. Every version mentioned here and through the sprint site gives me the same error that the application is not compatible with my device. I've gone through the dm and I tried by clicking on the program but still no upload.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong??

Follow these steps to the letter:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

Be sure to delete the vendor.xml file and don't use DM, use Loader.exe. It is located in the same folder as vendor.xml

i just wanted to poke my head in here for a quick second. if you've never heard of "blackberry master control program" (mcp) it is a windows application (xp or higher) that can do everything rim's javaloader.exe can do. javaloader is also used by jl_cmder. anyway, i just posted the newest release here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-released.html

you can use mcp to take screenshots (including auto-capture and auto-save), set the device time, turn the radio/on off, recover memory, handheld wipe (all 3 types), factory reset, gather information, view/clear event logs, display modules, gather module information, load, save and erase modules, create alx/jad files, backup and restore third party applications. the operating system management page allows you to completely manage and optimize any os you want to install to your device. the javaloader cli page is a 1:1 gui for javaloader.exe.

check it out and let me know your thoughts.

add C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder to your path, make sure javaloader.exe is located there as well. some users might have to rename choice.com to choice.old.

@billymerec: handheld wipe is options > security settings > general settings > menu button > wipe handheld. this will reset the phone back to the day you got it. no need for external apps for that.

Default Errors Using JL Cmder on 64 Bit Windows Vista - 11-03-2009, 10:00 AM

Dont suppose there is a 32 bit version of JL Cmnder, is there? I cant get it to work on my 64 bit PC.

Had it confirmed from a MS Developer Forum that 16 bit apps wont work (would post link, but not allowed until i have 10 posts in this forum).

Any ideas Doug or others?

Thanks - been trying for weeks to Reset to Factory so i can wipe my IT policies as I was on an Enterprise account, but now on an individual account, but cant get data services to work due to restrictions from my old Enterprise / BES account...

Unhappy JL_CMDER not working. - 11-08-2009, 11:18 AM

I downloaded the JL_CMDER and I excracted whatever you had to extract. & then when I try to open the application it just asks me if I'm sure I want to run this application. I then click Run and then it tells me " You are about to install JL_CMDER v1.9.1 on your computer. Are you sure you want to continue?" and click Yes. But then a black screen appears for like a second and disappears. And that's all that happens.
Have no idea what to do. Please help.
Thanks.
