Hi,
on my 7100V (Settings/About) I've got this OS version: 4.0.0.198. When I perform the JL_Dmder option 1. the program open a notepad file with some information with more information 0X0 (also about the OS version). I've got only a correct number for the Vendor ID:132.
Is there the possibility to install the OS version 4.0.2 on my 7100V device ???
Thanks a lot
Ciao ...

OK. Performing option one told me that JL_Cmder can connect to your BlackBerry. This is good. But you will need to upgrade to 4.0.2 before you can get a screenshot. See the thread on Upgrading BlackBerry OS for complete instructions. Be sure to make a backup before upgrading if you have anything you dont want to lose.

Since JavaLoader is a actually a developer tool, I would assume it allows you to run code in a debugging enviroment. How to actually use it, I dont know. Might ask in the Developer forum.

Hi D_Fisher,
Thanks for the program ! My whole group (which support BB's) appreciate it
Useful for handling broken screen BB's
Just wanted to confirm that i can take a screenshot from my 7510
BB 7510 (Telus)
App version : 4.0.2.37
Now -> is the "wipe handheld" really a "NUKE handheld" ? or just like the "Wipe handheld" in OPTIONS/Security ?
If it's a NUKE, i would recommend changing the "wipe handheld" to "nuke handheld"

You should be able to take a screenshot from BlackBerry this is running OS 4.0.2 or higher.

The wipe command completely erases everything from the BlackBerry, including the operating system. I know it is a little confusing, but I did it this way intentionally. All JL_Cmder does is run JavaLoader.exe with certain command-line switches. The switch used is -wipe, thus my menu is just listing the switch names. There are options that go along with -wipe. One is for wiping the filesystem only, and the other is for wiping applications only. I will tinker around with it a bit and maybe release a new version of JL_Cmder that can perform both a "Wipe Handheld" and "Nuke Handheld".

No dice. After using either switches you get a 505 or 507 error. I guess the switches dont work the way we hoped, unless I am doing it wrong.

Does anyone know of a good way to save all the .cod files on your BB? Does JavaLoader take wildcards or is there a batch app available to back up all your OTA apps?

BB_Manager will let you convert any OTAs on your BB to cod files which you can then store in your pc I do this whenever I cannot find an app with desktop install. I then create a little axl file fo it and put that and the cod file in their own subfolder in my blackberry apps directory.

what is the right command for jl_commander? my bberry7290 died on me yesturday "Device Error: 365". You would want to use the WIPE command, assuming that JL_Cmder can access your BlackBerry. This will completely remove the OS and any applications from your BlackBerry. Afterwards, you will need to reinstall the OS. Based on other posts about error 365, you may have a unit that gave up the ghost. Contact your service provider and get a warrantry exchange if your device is less than 1 year old. If not, you may have to purchase a new BlackBerry.

I did the wipe, so now it has the image of a desktop with a slash through it and error 507. I assume that's what's supposed to happen.
i went to the app loader, it said i didn't have an operating system installed. Again, what i assume is supposed to happen.
Then i went to the verizon download page to get the operating system for my 7130e. And, lo and behold, the download doesn't seem to exist. i click the download button, and the link goes absolutely nowhere. (i tried to throw in the URL but it said i wasn't allowed to post URLs cause i'm a n00b....???)
Is there another place where i can find the handheld software for a Verizon 7130e? someone please help, i need to get my BB working as soon as posisble...

I used the JL_Cmder program to wipe a BB handheld we've been having problems with.
I try to now reload both the latest OS and the previous OS from BB/Nextel's site and I keep getting the following error:
A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.
Unable to communicate with the radio hardware. Please ensure that a charged battery is installed in the device and try the loading operation again. [P:0x0000000F]
It gets to the part where it's trying to connect to the bootROM and then displays the above... 3rd step in App Loader...
PLEASE HELP!

I would suggest uninstaling the BB deskto manager and any OS's you have installed. Redownload everything again. Wipe your BB again and try reinstalling again. If you still have problems, you may have a hardware related issue.

If you're using a laptop or a Dell Desktop, make sure you're using a fully powered USB port (usually one on the Back). Might have run you battery down.
Hope this helps.

Even though the second battery I put in it was fully charged?
I'll try using a USB port off the board... I was using one of the two on the front... it is USB 2.0 and I thought Dell had washed their hands of the extra USB port power issues??

Tried it and no success... I am thinking it's a radio hardware issue.
I'm going to call Nextel/Blackberry whenever they get in this morning, 9EST.
Thanks for your help.

Do you have either the BlackBerry Desktop Manager or Device Manager installed? Both of these will install the required BlackBerry drivers onto your PC. make sure that when installing either one of these applications that the BlackBerry is NOT connected to the PC.
If the drivers are installed properly and JL_Cmder still can not communicate with the BlackBerry, you may have a hardware related problem. Contact your service provider.

yes its all setup and works perfectly with my 7290, 7100t and other 8700 devices around my workplace. also, i guess i should mention i am getting the A:0x0000000E error message within desktop managers apploader application when trying to go through there...although it does bring up PIN:Unknown before saying it cant connect.

Your device has a serious problem. Last time I saw the PIN:Unknown from the AppLoader I had to get the handheld replaced.

This is exactly where I'm at. It shows PIN:Unknown but I can't get anything to connect (javaloader.exe or the DM). I have 2 blinks also and I know the PC is recognizing it somewhat because when I plug and unplug, the computer makes that USB connect/disconnect sound through the speakers so it's detecting something.
Also, my RIM used to have a code w/ one blink and then 3 blinks and then a long pause before repeating and it would not make the computer do the sound when plugging it up...but now it's getting 2 blinks so I assume something changed for the better (as at least the computer sees something now).
This 6230 was working fine. Started having issues having to reload from a back up one time and then it started messing up (don't recall exact details...it's been months since I've used it. I've only had it for a few months w/ only a month of it actually working...it's been a paper weight since! )
This is me to a "T" except I'm using a 6230:

I know this is not what your going to want to hear, but I think your device is toast. Every time I have had this error, I had to get the handheld replaced. You should be able to find a 6230 on Ebay pretty cheap.

If you connect the BlackBerry to the PC can the Desktop Manager see and connect to the handheld? If not, uninstall BDM, reboot, reinstall. Make sure the BalckBerry is not connected during the install.
Do any of the functions work? Is it just the screenshot that is not working? If so, your handheld is probably not running handheld OS 4.0.2 or higher. The screenshot function does not work on OS 3.x or 4.0.0.
Is the handheld using a serial connection? If so, you will have to modify the batch file as it is configured to access a USB connection only at the moment.
