Default PPC 6700 vs BB 7520

Please Login to Remove!

Company is thinking of changing over to sprint, and getting the PPC 6700 phones. Anyone have any experience with this model, any comparisons?

not yet. I've been looking into it because I have a user who is adamant about not wanting a BB so that is the device I am looking at for him. I have used windows mobile 5 and all I have to say is that it is a MS product, so u will get what comes with a PPC with MS software. I don't think that the security and control is there either like it is for BB.

One of the members of my team has a 6700 and says it is the best device he has owned. Windows Mobile 5 is working fine for him. the size is great and he uses Active Sync to get his email. We will use it to test Exchange SP2's "psudeo push" email when we get it installed. It is a nice devce but I still like my Blackberry.

Couple of my clients have the 6700 and I had one for a couple weeks before I gave it away. Great device, fantastic device. Only thing that could make it better is on Verizon instead of Sprint. EV-DO network is the fastest thing ever seen, WM2005 is so much of an improvement, device speed is great, no issues whatsoever...BUT push email ehhhh, activesync works very well with exchange server but is no where near blackberry speeds.

couple of questions for whoever has this phone now

1- does the bb charger work on it since they are both mini usb

2- some sites say it has gps some say it doesn't...

3- can you im and check mail withouth worrying about not getting calls? and for that matter how exactly does the mail work.. i know sprint has a business connectivity package, does that push email.. or do you us pop that updates every 15 mintues, or can you use the "push" email from exchanges server sp2 without switching into a data mode?

thanx...

Matt

Email was a concern of mine. We do not use exchange, We use Imail. I have a copy of my emails sent to the BWC and have BWC set to makes replies look like they came from my office. I hope this device does this.

The active sync only works with exchange. I think the BCE or BPE will support your needs.

1. Yes BlackBerry charger works fine.
2. No GPS, but Windows 5.0 has built-in software support for GPS
3. I believe the call will interupt data.
