Can you have two phone lines on a nextel blackberry, in the same way you would a non-blackberry nextel phone? anyone? class? anyone?

Nope. Only Mot phones support the two line option.

Yes. Contrary to what others have posted here - you CAN have multiple lines. I have my personal phone AND my business phone all on my BlackBerry. Go into the phone that you don't carry around and Forward all calls to the BlackBerry number. I get all incoming calls for both numbers. Problem solved.

That's not the same as two active numbers on the same phone - which Nextel offers. The voicemail is shared by both numbers.

And, unless both plans are unlimited minutes, you get hit on both accounts for the minutes of a call when the call is forwarded from line 1 to line 2. JT

Sorry I keep forgetting - I don't pay for my BB service - shuchks. Nonetheless these are options w/o having to PAY for it i.e. Paying for a second line instead of forwarding.

Free BB service owns though - you gotta admit. : )

Interesingly T-mobile (and I hear other companies also do this) gives everyone a certain amout of "forwarding minutes" which are NOT taken out of your plan. I can't remember the exact amount. But after that, all forwarded calls are charged. Minutes are taken out of your plan when the calls are made or answered on the handset. Forwarded calls are taken out of that 'forward' minutes bucket until it's empty.

I had another line that I knew I would never use to call out. So I got the lowest plan (60 minutes) and forwarded all the calls to my main number. So essentially much more than the 60 from the plan for $19.99...

Not sure if this is still the case, I have since given the other phone to my son so I no longer forward it. But it work well when I did it.

Actually, I have a Nextel 7520, with 2 separate phone numbers. The BB can *accept* calls on both numbers, but only dial out on the primary number, from what I've seen. You may be able to change the assigned number somewhere on the unit, but I've not tried. My BB is personal, and I have the 1000 min plan on the primary line, and a second number (using Second Line Service http://nextelonline.nextel.com/en/su...ine_serv.shtml ) for work.

When I get a call on my SLS line, the My Number section on the right hand side of the phone call screen actually shows the SLS number. I can't call out from that number, but I only have that number so that work can reach me, so it's no problem for me.

Not possible. A Nextel BB can not be provisioned with 2 numbers.

This is was the only reason why we waited so long to get blackberries. The 3 of us who got them, we all had second lines. My Nextel rep swore up and down and promised me we could *USE* the second lines on the blackberry, but when we got them hooked up you could only recieve calls on it, not call out. It was kind of upsetting, but we learned to live with it.
