Default Bb Im

Please Login to Remove!

Good day,
This is my first visit on this forum and I am impressed...
I have a question.
Since I am going to travel overseas for a while, I am cutting my current phone line and plan. I will be getting another one as soon as I settle but this might take a few days.
Can I use my BB instant messagerie without having any chip in my smartphone ? Or do I absolutely need a plan for this ?
I have been trying to find an answer to this question for the last few weeks so I would be very appreciative if you could answer me.

Wirelessly posted (8820 on WiFi)

You won't be able to use BlackBerry messenger without a data plan, however if your BlackBerry has WiFi you can use 3rd-party IM programs. I would recommend BeeJive IM as you get a 30 day free full trial which should be long enough for what you need.

Beejive - instant messaging anywhere

Don't think it will work if you don't have a phone plan, though.
