Default synchronisation problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
Whenever i connect my Blackberry 8900 to my computer to synchronise them. the software does a search for software updates.
This takes really long and is a waste of time.
I have tried to click on the cancel button but nothing happens.

Please can someone advise how i can set the computer up to not look for updates each time i synchronise but rather to only do this if i ask for it specifically

Thank you

Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Click on Check for Updates in the lower right corner. In the window that pops up, click on the gears icon in the upper right corner. Uncheck the Automatic Updates box.

Thanks for your reply
But I have already done this and it does not help.

The problem is not with automatic updates but the fact that each time i connect the USB cable to synchronise, the system looks for these updates
This is what i want to stop

It's a bug with Desktop Manager 4.7 (sometimes 4.6)

If it bothers you that much you can downgrade back to 4.3/4.5 of the desktop manager.

No real difference between them.

Hmmm ... I'm using 4.7 on Vista and unchecking that box stopped it for me. Sorry about that.

I had 4.7 running for the longest time without that issue, but after deleting vendor.xml and loading a "beta" OS (at the time) I could get the prompt to disappear..

(Probably a broken link in the registry or something.)
