Default 8830 4.5 memory issue

Please Login to Remove!

With an 8830 running 4.5, on BES with google apps, jivetak and splashid, I only have about 10-11mb memory after a reboot, and it will drop to 6mb in a few hours

In looking at DM, it appears that system software takes almost 20mb, and core applications take another 13mb. Total application space is 45mb

Can this be correct? it seems like a huge number

Also, would the low available memory also be causing faster battery drain?

Before the upgrade to 4.5 I didn't notice any problems at all

I would go threw this thread:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

and make sure you are running the latest version for the 8830/ 4.5.0.160 is currently the latest.

In that case install the latest OS for your device.

I installed the current OS, and have 13mb free upon reboot.

From reading other posts it sounds like people have 20-30mb free. Is that for a different model than my 8830we?

Nope it's from removing COD files, see the link in my first in this thread to remove COD files.

I had 22-24MB free on my 8830 back in the day.
