I am on a corporate BES and I am able to synch my messages, calendar entries and tasks all wirelessly. I have been using Desktop Manager to synch my address book and I would like to go completely wireless. In reading through the forums I noted where some say it can work and others state it cannot work but a majority of the posts are very old (2007\2008). I am in hopes maybe a few folks have figured out how to make it work. What some members of our team are doing is they are going to their Lotus Notes inbox, selecting actions at the top and selecting "Synchronize Address Books." I too turned on wireless synch in the address book and I am able to click the option to force the synch but I would really would like to go 100% wireless. The address books are stored locally and to my knowledge they are not on the BES servers. Is there an agent within Notes that will run the same option at set intervals?

I'm running Lotus Notes/Domino 8, on the clients you want to turn on replication for you contacts and schedule a decent replication time..

Also your user account on the BES has to edited, adding your Domino Server and the path to your Mail file (.nsf)

That's with Notes 8... Most likely you will need to contact your IT personal for assistnace with this.

You might have some redirection turned on because you have been using desktop manager. I would recommend that you call your BES admins and have them add the path to your mail-file in the PIM sync address book field in your profile on the bes. Then if they have you delete the desktop [sync] service book on your phone and push new service books from the bes, that should fix it. We run into this all the time. To speed things up after the new service books are on the phone, pull the battery and that will jump start things, when it starts back up. Address will start syncing within a few minutes.

To hit your ?? about the notes agent.

The sync address book merges your locally personal address book with your mail-file [$contacts] view. Whatever is stored in this [$contacts] view is replicated to the BB. Depending on your notes client version 7 or 8 code streams. You can go to your notes client, enter your inbox and then hold the shift & ctrl keys down (shows hidden views in notes). Click on View, then GOTO..... this will pop open a box with views in it. Toward the bottom there will be a hidden view [$contacts] highlight this and hit okay. This will then show what entries in your local address book that is synced with notes. Once you verify that your contacts are merged with your mailfile, then call the bes admin and refer to my previous post. This should steer you in the right direction.
