Default What can be seen through carrier (Tmobile) account page?

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a 8330 provided by employer for work. I don't have access to the online account with the carrier (T-mobile).

What exactly can be seen through this account? I've created my personal email account in the device, and naturally don't want emails, email account passwords, etc., visible. Might they be? Or do you have to enter the specific email account password to do things like view and edit signatures through the provider website? What about texts, IM's, etc?

Wirelessly posted

The carrier cannot see any of your information. As for your BES, I read on this forum that some data can be viewed depending on the logging setup by the BES admin.

First of all, the 8330 is a CDMA device, so if you are on T-Mobile (GSM), you don't have the 8330.

Secondly, if you are on a BES, you should assume that your employer can see everything on the device.

If you are worried about it, then the best advice is to not put anything personal on a company device. They own it and pay the bill.

It is hard to say what the company can or cannot see and track. For sure BBM and phone calls, probably TMs, calendar and contact info. Best advice is to assume the worst. If you need your personal data, then get your own device.

Was told by employer today while trying to work out email problems, that we were not on the BES?

And I guess you're right, it says it's the 8320, not the 8330.

Not concerned with the use for other than company business. Have been told a couple times that use for personal things was fine. Was given the green light to forward my personal phone to this one, since our plan has unlimited long distance (and my personal plan did not), and could make unlimited personal calls on it. We've got up to 400 txt messages a month on the plan, and I don't come close to going over that. Unlimited internet browsing.

Main concern would be emails sent through tmobile (off my personal email account) being read, web pages viewed, or posts to forums made, txt messages, im's, etc. Basically the gauntlet. I don't get nuts with it, but some things could be embarrassing if viewed by a nosey IT guy. I'm quite certain I've done nothing against company policy, and as stated, have been given approval to forward personal phone to this one. I just am hoping there's some semblance of privacy for other things.

Well, if you are not on a BES, then they can't see much. They might be able to see the numbers to which you send text messages but probably not much else (without a court order, that is).
