tregrad,

Sports information is quite expensive and we feel that we've priced it according to it's worth. I respect that's if it's not worth that to you that's fine. The interest we're seeing for this add-on is quite impressive and we're sure that most sports enthusiasts will find $3.95 / month a small price to pay to get real-time sports info on the go.

Cool

I'm sure it does cost money but it don't cost that much money. One has to pay for the program and then pay a monthly fee for an add on? 40 bucks a month? Good luck in your endeavour but it will be without my support.
For those that are as shocked as I am I will post a link to internet sports scores that you can bookmark and get all your scores at pretty close to real time and its FREE!!!!! ESPN.com that's how I usually check my scores any way.
Tirsch, you say you have a great! Interest in the add on which translates into 40 bucks a month from A LOT of people which translates into A LOT of money....A LOT more than you pay for the service I'm sure.
Greed really stinks don't it?
Im sure you will get some people to pay for it and Im glad you will make some money but you wouldmake more if you would charge lsee.

I ran a Fantasy Football League and had to pay for stats to run my league. As a basis of comparison I agree with Mark's comment that feeds are expensive and $40 is not unreasonable and if it not what you need or want pass on it. Virtually all the operators offer SMS news, sports and weather offering.

I personally think the investment I made in this application is the best I have made in a piece of software given the price/performance/value. Mark has always answered my questions promptly and been a big help. I think that when you say you are getting "fleeced" for something that slips from subjective opinion to a perjorative remark. My 2 cents on that....I love the variety of opinions and perspectives here but there is a difference.

btw there is no comparison in having to browse for an rss feed to get a score vs having the score update every minute (or whatever interval you choose) within the pocketday app..try it tonight and you will see what i mean...

I have no doubt that PD is a great program and Tirsch is probably a good person as well, I am just blown away at the price of an add on for a program when i can get the same info for free else where thats all Im sayin here. Someone needed to start the debate and it might as well have been me

NFL scores
http://mobileapp.espn.go.com/nfl/mp/wml/scoreboard

go here and if you want other scores all you have to do is scroll down to the bottom and click on espn and it will bring up all kinds of sports to check out.
book mark the ones you like and viola FREE scores in real time or pretty close to it.....close enough for me.

4 clicks and your ther, takes 3 seconds after you book mark them

All,

I've now posted the 'Release Version' of PocketDay. Version 3.0 You will have 15 days to trial the sports.

If your a sports enthusiast, I guarantee that having the sports updated every X minutes (1-59) automatically and just having to look down at your BB with no clicks or anything will appeal to you. It also has an option to vibrate when each refresh happens.

More...Switch sports with a single click to NFL/NBA/NHL/NCAA

Coming soon, set up your favorite teams (across sports) and get these the real-time scores at once without any clicking.

It's available here as an Over-The-Air download:

http://www.crossriversystems.com/files/v30/pdp.jad
WAP version: http://www.crossriversystems.com/files/v30/pdp-wap.jad

Try it out!

tregrad...just went for the test drive like you suggested that link was for one sport vs all the major sports and i imagine its a lot easier not to be browsing each time for a score when i am in a meeting out to dinner or coaching a game for my kids etc.....will know for sure this weekend...thanks

seiler you have to SCROLL down to the bottom and where it says ESPN click on that and you will have all teh scores you want of all major sports. all you have to do is hit "r" on your key board and it refreshes, Im sure you can handle it lol even while your eating. Hit R take a bite and the new score appears. I almost forgot to tell you...... ITS FREEEEE

Disclaimer:
Im not pounding on Tirsch, or his program, I harbor no ill will towards him or his program. I may even dl the trial just to see what im not gonna purchase.

This thing is sweet. Yea, ESPN and the other pages might do it for free, but it still takes extra clicks and wireless browsing is annoying anyway. Having it update on its own is worth the $40 a year to me. Everything good can't be free!

My delimma, I am pretty much just an NFL fan. As a minister, you can imagine what streaming scores means to me. Maybe you can sell a season pass. If not no biggie, $12 a season ain't bad.

OK... so I'm going to try the trial version of 3.0. I was just about to but PocketDay after the last update and the fact that I can now use it for RSS and weather (thanks again tirsch) so I'm going to give this a go.
