i downloaded the updates and some new apps for my blackberry via the usb cable and the newest version of blackberry desktop manager. i also downloaded the newest blackberry device manager. however, i am trying to put pictures and music from my computer on to the black berry but when i click on the button to open media sync on the BB desktop manager window it opens a new window, i enter my security password, and then it says that the software does not support my blackberry? what can i do to put files i.e. music and pics on my blackberry?

You shouldn't really with that type of device.

The 8700 has a very very small amount of onboard memory. 64 MB I think and usually your installed software and applications take up at least half of that. there is no SDCard expansion slot either.

This is not a media friendly device.

If you wish to use your BB for media, I would suggest to upgrade to at least a curve if you want QWERTY, or Pearl if you want Smartouch. (or whatever non QWERTY is called) and then buy a micro SDCard (2 gigs are dirt cheap if even still available) that you store your media on.
