Default DO IM's use up text credit?

I heard somewhere, that using instant messaging, on internet etc over phone, actually uses up texts, is this true? I am on an unlimited data package and well, was looking forward to using msn messenger for free... 8900 btw.

Some do, some don't, depends on the app you are using. BBM uses data. I think AIM might be TM based, but not 100% certain, since I don't use it.

IM+ and BeeJive (applications for IM that will connect to Windows Messenger) both use data.
