Default BB Dots and other cool symbols for Blackberry Messanger

Please Login to Remove!

-Found This On CB-

So by now you've seen many of your Blackberry Messenger contacts have added all kinds of funky symbols to their names, so your screen looks something like this:

I guess technically it's a BlackBerry logo that's missing a few dots (arguably looks like a Microsoft Windows logo?!) but it's the indicator icon RIM uses for 3G coverage and it's cool nonetheless and BBM users have adopted it as the BB logo. Here is the quick and easy way to snag it along with other cool symbols for yourself.

The easy ones first. You can snag the heart, club, diamond and spade simply by copying these symbols:

xxx9829; xxx9827; xxx9824; xxx9830;

and pasting them into an email and sending it to your device. Copy each one and create an AutoText entry (Options > AutoText). Then edit your name in Blackberry Messenger, type in your AutoText and you're done! That's all there is to it. Check out the screens for a step by step. This approach will work with loads of other symbols as well, so play around and see what you can get working.

Copy the symbols above and email them from a PC to your device, or copy them from a friend in Blackberry Messenger.

Create a new AutoText entry with a unique name and paste the copied symbol.

Edit your Blackberry Messenger info and use your new AutoText

If you're still itching to get your hands on the BlackBerry logo or any other cool symbols, follow the following steps:
Messages > Create PIN Message> 20E1489A > Can you send me the symbols?
I will reply back with my master list of symbols (about 30ish).

If you have any other questions, about this, add me to BBM (20E1489A) and I will see if I can help.

How about giving some credit to the person(s) that you plagiarized this from?

So then just link to the original post on CB.
Don't copy & paste someone else's work into your own post. Bad form.

It's not stealing, it is "sharing".

I need to also drop some credit to Clevebb for helping with my master list of symbols.

P.S. Clevel check BBM I found about 10 more that work in BBM.

Thank you! There is nothing wrong with sharing info with others aslong as you cite your work. lol (Like a college paper) I said, that I forgot to tag it with credit to CB. I have done so since and I see nothing wrong with my post.

As to your comment penguin, why should I put a link to CB when its easy to just read hwhat I typed?

You should link to the source of your information. It's good forum etiquette.

If I recall correctly (and I do) the discovery of those symbols originated with some moderators of this forum... Kevin picked up on it... and.

Anyway, here are some posts from this forum about it.
if anyone wants this. PIN me I have it!

No more so then not quoting a source on a college paper. If caught, you fail, right?

Well... it really didn't originate at CrackBerry. But it doesn't matter. No big deal.

It's just that this Forum has much much information that you don't have to link there for sourcing, in most cases. There are times when one might need to do so.

So, using the "search" function would have helped, right?
Must be broken again.
