Default desktop manager problems

hi all, i am a newbie with a curve 8310, using XP on a laptop. i have BIS with orange on payg. my problem is with the DM v 4.5 which downloaded without the media manager but now has developed other problems and won't sync with outlook which it had been doing quite well. the application loader works and the update works but when i try intellisync i get 'Unknown error report' and can't sync with laptop. any ideas anyone. cheers in advance.

What version of Outlook?
Have you tried any other version of the desktop manager?
Done an uninstall/reinstall?
8830 -> 8330 -> 9550 -> 9650
Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.

Your Synchronization Data is corrupt.

- Leave your BlackBerry unplugged
- Open Desktop Manager, click on Synchronize.
- Click on Configuration Tab, then click Reset Configuration
- Close the Desktop Manager, then reopen.
- connect the BlackBerry.
- You may get a message "No applications configured for synchronization..." Click OK.
- Resetup your sync information with Outlook

If you get the same error, completely uninstall then reinstall the Desktop Manager.

---- if this does not work try the following:

c:\documents and settings\username\application data\research in motion\blackberry\intellisync

Rename the Intellisync folder to IntellisyncOld.

Open Desktop Manager, and try setting up your sync again.

If you have Outlook 2000 or earlier, use DM 4.2. Outlook 20003/2007 then DM 4.6 or 4.7.

Do not plug your device into a HUB, plug directly to the PC.
