Hey! I'm going to be in New York for 6 months. I wanted to know what plan would allow me to activate a data as well as a voice plan without being locked in to a 2 year contract. I currently have a blackberry but I am open to buying a new one and passing this one along to my little brother.

Good luck... Your better off finding a pay as you go service..

you might be able to get an account with att with out setting up a contract. i have heard of people doing that . not sure if they had an inside connection but they got a data plan and voice plan with out a contract it was prepaid almost like a go phone account .

You can not get anything but pre-paid without a 2 yr contract on any carrier. I would recommend getting the contract with new BB and then just bit the bullet and cancel later. Only way you will get data and voice, seeing as pre-paid is voice and text and mobile web. BB Web needs a BB plan which is contract only.

Sounds like you can do it on FlexPay which is basically month-to-month.

Yep - T-Mobile would be the only US based carrier which has a month to month deal.
