syncing sent email with outlook
 

We just purchased an 8830 and were told that it would sync with outlook. Does anyone know how to sync emails sent from the blackberry 8830 with outlook? We have BIS. BES is not an option for us. Thank you.

you cannot sync emails with outlook using BIS.
you can sync calendar, contacts and i believe tasks with outlook

IIRC, closest you can get is to autobcc yourself and have a rule move the mail to Sent Items. You might need a filter to keep that mail from being pushed to the BB.

FYI -- technically email doesn't sync on the BB regardless of whether you're on BIS or BES. You can get full reconciliation with BES but it's not quite the same thing as sync.

Some vendors have websites that can be setup to redirect your email to the blackberry.

For instance Sprints website is <sprint.blackberry.com> and Verizon's is <https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw>


Most of our company blackberry's are setup this way and our sent items do transfer back to Outlook but we must use our user email account icon when sending the items and not the messages icon.

Look in Outlook help under Rules, or browse through the menu items. I think you can right click on a message in Outlook and select setup rule, as well.

The idea is you would set the parameters to automatically move message with your address in the from field to a folder you specify.

And as already stated, you'll want to create a filter on the BIS so the bcc does not come back to your blackberry.
