BB Curve Won't Format A New Media Card. Ideas? Hi everyone. I had to buy a new media card to upload a software program onto my BB. I mounted the media card onto my desktop, copied the software, and then placed it on my BB, but then received an error message stating that the media card could not be read. I then used the BB media card menu to format the card, but then received an error message saying that the card could not be formatted. What could I be doing wrong? Is there a way to format this media card (Micro SD) on my Mac desktop so I don't have to do it on my BB? Many thanks for your ideas. |
You shouldn't have to format an SD card. It should work right out of the package. Could be a problem with the card. What size media card did you buy? Is that size supported by your OS? Is it inserted the correct way? What type and size Media Card can I use in my device? - BlackBerryFAQ |
Dubdub, thanks for writing. It's a 4 GB SanDisk card, and I have a 8310/Curve. I believe I used the exact same size with my old Curve without a problem so thought this would work. Is 4 GB not supported by my OS (4.5.0.110; platform 2.7.0.9) |
When you go to My Computer does the card show up as a hard drive? If so, right-click on it and you should be given the option to format. |
