Default Transport Provider Interphase Protocol

Please Login to Remove!

I work for a county government, and I carry an alpha numeric pager ( I know stone age), however, the IT guru, mentioned something about the Transport Provider Interphase Protocol, which allows the blackberry to accept alpha numeric pages from Page-Gate Dispatch Software ( note page software) and would let me know of call outs, or changes in the place I am supposed to report to. I called ATT and got lost in the customer service aspect of what is this software you are talking about. I was wondering if anyone out there knew something about the topic that I posted, and if you do, contact me directly through my email at [email address].

Thank you so much

-Tom

The Web site for the software indicates support WCTP or SMTP messaging. AT&T should support both as well. You just need to get their protocols.
Personally I recommend WCTP in order to bypass all the other SMTP based messaging.

Try their tech support or possibly Google.
