|  Auto resend messages on fail/no coverage - pins do but emails and sms don't?

I've noticed that if I'm in an area where i don't have coverage (ie toronto subway- why oh why don't we have coverage down there anyway?) that pins will spool and send as son as there is sufficient signal to push it through. however it seems that emails and sms aren't treated the same way.
is there a logic around this? how about a hack?
