Unhappy Help with password after Quickpull

Please Login to Remove!

I changed my password yesterday to either 123321 or etuute I'm not sure because I just pressed those the middle three keys back and forth.

I've not had a problem all day unlocking the phone until I did a QuickPull (software battery pull) this evening.

Now the password does not work so the only thing I can think of is that I dodn't enter the password I thought I did because the keypad was on caps lock, numlock or someting else but I'm not sure this makes sense because I would've noticed something when I was texting, surely?

So if it's not 123321 or etuute then what else could it be if I'm sure I'm hittng the right buttons?

Sorry for the long post, I'm freaking out, I haven't done a back up for a couple of weeks :(

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

There is no way I can tell you what you put as your password.

And before you ask, there is no "master password" either.

However, what I can tell you, is that if you don't get it correct in 10 tries, you have a nice paperweight

Call your carrier or rim and they will fix it for you. But try to do a battery pull for seconds and then enter your password once. You do not want to go above 10 tries.

This isn't true. The device is fully functional after 10 incorrect password attempts. It just wipes your data. You can restore your most current backup, which as you stated is a few weeks out. But at least you would have a majority of your contacts.

OK, figured it out. The phone was in multitap mode but I had previously entered the password in suretype mode which is weird because I thought all password fields reverted to multitap.

Anyway, physically pulled the battery for about 30 mins and hey presto! The phone reverted to suretype.

That was my 9th attempt so I was kinda nervous!
