I was just curious do any of you see any benefit to carrying a seperate phone and blackberry? Reason I ask is that I just purchased a E815 and now want a blackberry but still have two years left on my contract, should I just cancel that and stick with the blackberry? or have both?

I carry both a phone and a BlackBerry (with an active phone). Both are on a Cingular Family Plan, so the extra phone only costs me $10/month.

The main reason I have both is because I really don't like the way the BB (7290) feels as a phone -- just personal taste. However, on a recent trip to Asia, I found that Cingular could not activate an unlimited international data plan and international roaming for phone calls on the same device. (At least that's what they said, anyway.) Having the second phone allowed me to have both available.

I also carry a phone in adddition to the Blackberry. All of my clients and business associates have the number to my phone, while only family members have the number to the Blackberry. I have found it provides some peace and quiet on the weekends and evenings while still being available to family members that may need to give me a call.
