Default Calendar appointments 1 year away

Hi,

I'm running a BES 4.1.6 MR5 with about 50 users on a Windows 2003 Server R2 Standard SP1. I found an issue and cannot find any documentation on where this setting is controlled on the BES. It affects all devices, new and old, on any carrier. Rogers or Bell, Bold, Storm, 7250's, 8830, 8880, Pearls, Curves, etc.

We have discovered that if I enter an appointment 365 + days ahead from now in my blackberry calendar it has some odd behaviour. The new appointment will enter and display successfully in the blackberry calendar, sync to the GroupWise calendar, then disappear from the blackberry calendar. Once the appointment is less than 365 days away it will re-appear on the blackberry device. This is very annoying for our power users (VP, CEO, etc.) that are booking important appointments 1 year + in advance, and now can not rely on their blackberry being up to date with what their admin assistants show in their GroupWise calendar.

If an appointment is 365 days or less from now it will sync to the GroupWise calendar and remain on the device as intended.

Any ideas? I'm scratching my head on this. I am leaning towards a setting on the BES, but I am posting this in the Novell GroupWise forums as well.

Thanks,
Offline
