Hi all,

I am a compete newbie when it comes to BlackBerry as I am trying to choose my 1st one.

Originally was looking at the iPhone but upon stumbling to this website I believe BB will be my best option.

I have a few questions I need answering first and your honest opinion on what handset would be best.

Ok

Q1: I live in Tewkesbury Gloucestershire UK and will be going over to either Vodafone or O2. The best priceplan I can find is on Voda giving 750 mins - 250 text free landline calls for 30 plus vat per month with free mobile internet and BB email on top is 500Mb of data per month enough????
will be using it for email to send and receve jpg / word docs / pdf etc also to surf the web and use messenger alot (love yahoo)

Q2: Can you see webcams on messenger?

Q3: Can you send and receve files like on messenger?? like jpg's???

Q3: any way of making the front camera a webcam?? for use on messenger on the BB

Q4: looking at all the above what BB would you recomend for me???

Look forward to reading all your replys.

Tony

yes 500mb will be enough for normal email/browsing and app usage.

no you cant see webcams on messenger

havent tried sending files over msn, so no idea if its possible. i think it *might* not be

i dont believe any blackberry has a front camera

bold or 8900, though if you like the idea of the iphone and you'll be on vodafone, try the storm.

id also like to ask where you have found that deal, as I cant find that on the vodafone website at all.

are you actually going to be a business customer?
because they wont give you a business price plan etc if you will be a personal customer.

ah well fair enough!
It will give you what you want when you select your model
i.e. states unlimited internet email, then after selected BB, states unlimited internet and BB email.

My recommendation would be:
If you intend to browse the web a lot, get the iPhone. It has the best mobile browser I have ever seen. Also media/entertainment etc has better support on the iPhone so long as you can get on with iTunes.
If you intend to use the handheld mainly for e-mail then stick with BlackBerry as the personal and enterprise e-mail integration is far ahead of any other.

no BB's dont have flash availability.
If you want a web browsing device the iphone is superior.
BB's default browser can be poor, dont have flash capability and BB's are better for emailing.
You can download a 3rd party browser - opera mini or bolt
but still no flash.

from adobe
those devices that has flash lite support:
Adobe - Mobile & Devices: Supported Devices: Handset Manufacturers

pda's that have flash lite support:
Adobe - Mobile & Devices: Supported Devices: PDAs

and most of the devices that support it, only support it in Japan
