Hey guys, im a blackberry newbie and have a choice of buying my first BB Curve 9800 (Javelin) either made in Mexico or one made in Hungary. Does anyone have an opinion about which might be the better unit? Thx

Go for the ones made in Ireland. I hear the leprechauns put magic powers into them.

Hungary made units are usually in Europe
Mexico made units are usually in the USA

It makes no difference.
Its just that making them in Hungary for Europe is easier than making them in Mexico and shipping them over.
And vice versa

I know where the OP is coming from. There is a huge (perceived) difference in Nokia phones that are made in Finland vs. those made elsewhere. It's all anecdotal evidence about build quality varying by country of origin, but Nokia's that are "MIF" often sell at a premium over those made elsewhere.

With BlackBerrys, it doesn't matter where they're made. Unless it's a clone/knockoff made in China.

I would like the Keebler elfs edition. Some of those leprechauns might be con artists. They just dont seem as honest for some reason. But that might just be me.

I'm guessing you actually mean the 8900 since that is the Javelin.

My recommendation would buy which ever one is TMO branded since you list that as your carrier if you have any intention of using it on UMA. (WiFi voice.) Otherwise, it may not work on UMA. Other than that, it doesn't matter.
