Default Trackball Insertion Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I need to replace my 8820's trackball. The problem: Which side of the panel on the back goes up and which side goes down? The panel looks like a light bulb or tear drop with a ball and stem. Is the stem side down towards the keyabord or is the bulb down towards the keyboard?

I've looked through dozens of guides and Youtube videos but can only find references such as 'Make sure it looks like a lightbulb' or just 'make sure that the correct side is up' but apparently nobody has ever though of actually mentioning which that side is. So, I would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter!

P.S. I realize that the worst that could happen is that it won't work as smooth if I get the side wrong. But it's a slightly longer story why I can't just trail and error it.

if it says "make sure it look like a lightbulb" that to me would indicate your device as you would look at it, i.e. the right way up
and the trackball panel "looking like a lightbulb" i.e. bulb up and stem down.
