I'm having a similar problem. My phone hasn't rung in about a week, and so I was going to switch back from an mp3 to one of the standard preloaded ringtones, but no audio file will play on my Blackberry 8330 now. Trying to play a song in the media player, it says the file is in an unsupported format, and trying to play a ringtone, it says "an error has occurred while attempting to play media."

Any suggestions, folks?

I have seen that before, but not lately. Have you tried deleting the BBThumbs.dat files via Windows Explorer? Maybe they are corrupted.
