I'm typing this in regular letters but really in my head I'm shouting this angrily because I am SO frustrated!

Okay so long story short - broke my BlackBerry Bold's screen, bough new LCD from eBay, put it on, and my screen is just WHITE. It turns out that I accidently bought the "002/004" edition LCD when I apparently need the "001/004" edition.

There are only TINY physical differences with these two screens, I cant see how it could possibly make such a huge difference that all I see is white. The little tab of the 002/004 that attaches the LCD to the phone is identical to the 001/004 tab, but it still wont work.

Thoughts? Am I screwed and do I have to buy another one? This is crazy!

I suspect RIM uses two different models because they each match the specs for a specific device. They are not interchangable, as you have discovered. Yeah, you're going to have to find the correct part to make it work.

there are actually 3 models of screen from what ive read.
and no, you have to buy the specific one.
otherwise there wouldnt be different model numbers!
