Exclamation Wifi problems

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my BB 8220 for almost 2 months now through T-Mobile. I do not have the data plan as I planned on just accessing the internet through wifi. However, I have not been able to connect to the internet yet. I have tried connecting at several open access points around the community (coffeeshops, mcdonalds, etc.) but I have never been able to connect. Whenever I try it keeps telling me I need to sign up for a web2go data plan. I shouldn't need to pay for a plan since I have wifi. So What do I need to do to connect to the internet through wifi? Is anyone else having this problem?

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

You need to change your browser.

Instead of what you click on, look for an icon called "hotspot browser"

Do u see that?? If not, there is a way to fix ur problem

Sorry, I am new to blackberry's. When I open up the menu I have a browser and WAP browser. Is it one of those? Or how do I get to the "hotspot browser"?

It sounds like its opening up the tzones browser.

Go to Options>advanced>browser and for the wifi browser make sure it set to hotspot (anything aside from tzones).

Alternatively, you could try getting Opera Mini. Some people have found it to be better (faster) than the native BlackBerry browser.
