Blackberry Desktop will not configure. We've followed all the advice on the BB support forum and other sources without success. Each time we attempt to configure the sync feature, an error with event id 1000 is generated citing synchronize.dll.
Among the things we done are:
- used different versions of Desktop - 4.3 to 4.7.
- re-registered all DLLs
- closed the Anti-Virus product during installation
- other methods that are too many to list.
It is clearly an error with Desktop and the OS(Windows XP)- not the BB itself. The BB connects and is recognized by the DT.
When Configure Sync is clicked, there's a pause then the error displays with 'send to Microsoft' dialogue. An error log entry is created for the applciation - not system.
FYI - I used BBs for about 5 years. I can usually resolve problems quickly.
