Default SIM card not recognized

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought an unlocked T Mobile 8820, put in my T Mobile prepaid SIM card and it won't recognize the card. It still says "Insert SIM Card" on the screen as if the SIM card isn't there. I've tried reinserting the card over and over again to make sure it's properly seated, but still nothing.

I realize that with a prepaid SIM I won't have internet service, but at least it should allow me to make phone calls and send sms's, right?

Check this - How do I determine if my BlackBerry is "unlocked"? - BlackBerryFAQ - to make sure it is REALLY unlocked.

OK - then (no kidding) make sure the SIM card is in properly (in the right direction) in the 8820. Haven't used one for a while.

If that doesn't work (and you are sure the SIM card is OK), contact the seller.
