Hi folks,
I'm off to Greece next week with my unlocked Bell Blackberry Tour (BIS service). I've been looking into data roaming solutions and Brightroam seems like a good idea ($50/mb on bell vs $15/mb w/ Brightroam). I understand Brightroam uses O2 services in the UK.
What I am trying to figure out, is if I pop my Brightroam SIM card with BIS service activated on it, in my phone while I'm overseas, will Bell's BIS service automatically re-direct to O2's? Do I even need to configure BIS service with O2 or just switch my radio from CDMA to GSM and then my O2/Brightroam account handles all my BIS needs?
Does RIM's servers recognise that my PIN/IMEI are now on a different BIS provider? Or do I have to deactivate my Bell BIS and signup with O2's BIS with my unlocked Tour's PIN/IMEI?
Can't seem to find a clear answer on this one... Brightroam's technical support seems to indicate that you just "pop in their sim card, and your BIS service will just keep on working through O2's data roaming".
Help?
