There's a free weather notification service that delivers watches, warnings, advisories and even forecasts to your phone by text messages.

It's nothing revolutionary, except it's free and includes a daily forecast 'pushed' to your device.... and the warnings are using a new national weather service standard by 'polygon' instead of by whole county.

A lot of TV stations still say a tornado warning (for example) is for your whole county, but in reality the warning may be just for part of the county. This service checks if you're within the real polygon warning area before sending a notification.

It's called CellWarn and you can set up a free account at their web site.

I signed up for their waiting list. I guess they're not ready yet for prime time, so I'm waiting for them to say they're ready for me. Oh well....
