Default Unlocked BB 8310 4.5 OS Blackberry Messenger is not working

Hi guys,

I am trying to get my gfs BBM to work but it denys PIN and cannot send out request. She has the BB dataplan. I am using the latest OS. i have tried to do some research but had no luck. DOes this mean a unlocked BB cannot have a functioning BBM? please help! Thanks!

I have an unlocked BlackBerry and mine works, so it must be something else. Have you tried adding by using the email address?

Are either on of you on a BES?

No. All removing the subsidy lock does is allow you to use other carriers' SIM's.

Check for an IT policy. Can she send/receive PIN messages?

She cannot send PIN invites. She can receive PIN request but gets this message no permissions or something i will have to check the specific message again.

If you go to Options > Security Options > General Settings and scroll to the bottom, what does it show under Services?

She got hers second hand. I have a 9630 tour brand new. i dont have her phone with me but i will check that later. mine shows windows livre [WLM_PROD_BELL_NA] (AES) WLM2.1 [WLMNA01](AES)

anyone have any other ideas? im going to use desktop manager to reinstall BBM if that doesnt work im gonna ask the carrier to readd her PIN to the network and send the BBM over to the phone.

Before you do that, I would check what shows under Services on her device to see if she has an IT Policy her device since it was used.

oh ok. what if it does have a IT policy? how would i remove that?
