I was browsing the net when I accidentially pressed wrong buttons and the following appeared
On my screen:

Bytes received: 68000

I thought MDS related to BES, I am using BIS. Can some explain what the GPMDS01 means given
That I am not using a corporate BES. Tks

GPMDSNA01 is the UID (Universal IDentifier) for Blackberry Internet Browsing Service service book. So it is your BIBS or more commonly called BIS connection.
My other Blackberry is a PlayBook.

Welcome to the forums.

I believe that the GPMDSAP01 means Global Proxy Mobile Data Services Asia Pacific. Most of us in North America would see GPMDSNA01 or something along those lines.

* ConnectionUID=GPMDSNA01

Refers to a Service Book UID from which specific Connection
information is retrieved. GPMDSNA01 is the most common
identifier and stands for ( Global Proxy? ) Mobile Data Services
North America. The '01' is often '5c' but almost always one or the other.

This is a gigantic Server Farm in Canada that is basically just a
regular BlackBerry Enterprise Server which has been opened up
to users who don't have their own BES Server. It acts as a
Proxy for all Internet requests for the default BlackBerry browser.
