Default Search won't complete

If I use 'Search sender' form the messages screen, then it will find maybe one or two mesages, and then freeze. The search never ends, and it never finds any more messages.

If I use the 'Search' util, and use the name of the sender I just tried in the name field, and select all of the boxes, it would run the search to 21% every time, and then freeze. If I expand the messages section, it says 'no messages' yet if it has found an entry in any of the other sections, it will list them when I expand it.

I deleted some messages, and now it freezes on 25% every time.

If I run the search on everything but messages, then the search completes fine.

I using a 7290 with OS 4.0.2.49 on T-Mobile UK.

All input appreciated
