Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can give some sound advice to me with regard a little problem I have.

My BB has decided to really throw a wobbly (falling to bits) so my service provider is sending me a new one to replace it. As such I have loaded my desk top manager and backed up my device (or I believe I have) into an ipd file which I assume contains my contacts and details?

To place my contacts on the new device when it arrives is it as simple as plugging the new replacement device onto the USB computer cable and just restoring them to the new phone by uploading the ipd file??

I am quite amazed it is that simple as even with the most well established tech gear around there are often little problems that arise in the most simple of proceedures!! LOL

The Switch Device Wizard in the Desktop Manager can transfer contacts as well as programs from your old BB to the new one. I just used it to transfer fron my old Curve to my new Bold without any problems.

This is your first backup? Make sure you're backing up and/or syncing regularly. You're lucky that your first problem wasn't an issue that prevented retrieval of your data.
