I haven't seen any discussion regarding small businesses/Independent Contractors switching to Google Premier Apps from hosted Exchange services. I'm aware Google Apps will not sync Outlook notes and tasks, but does sync mail, calendar and contacts. Also not really interested in the desktop apps as much as the Exchange features.

There's a potential savings of $370/year/user, so it seems worth considering. Google also gives each user a 25GB mailbox instead of the much smaller mailboxes supplied by hosting providers. Initial setup isn't difficult...mostly DNS changes. Yeah, there are increased ongoing admin duties...but still.

Anyway, I'm interested in any opinions, appraisals and experiences regarding this subject.

I'll be curious to see if any companies plan on offering a BES hosted solution that points to Google Apps.
