Default TMO - BIS Email "Pull" time

Please Login to Remove!

Currently on TMO BIS with multiple pop accounts. Is there anyway to get the BB or TMO to pull email faster. I know i can always forward email to my BB but i won't be able to reply with the proper email address since it wasn't pulled by the BIS. Thanks

Unsure about TMO, but on Cingular I set my reply email on the server to what I want it to be, and forward all my accounts to the BB account in order to get instant email. Thia way I get messages in real time, and all replies are sent with my specified reply to email address.

From what I understand the BB will only check a pop3 account every 15 minutes. But if you have a yahoo account its real time. No messing any options, yahoo accounts are simply real time. Same way with a gmail account and the forward function. If you set up a gmail account, I wouls suggest using the forward function only. If you set up pop3 and the forward function you will get the same email twice. Me I have pop3 set up and forward. But I have my BIS sent up not to sent emails from that account. This way I get full use of the sent from address without two emails. But if you set up a account with pop3 only I'm just about 100% positive that it will only be checked once every 15 mins.

The only problem with that is if you have multiple email addreses being forwarded to your BB, if you reply to them you will be using the assigned BB email address and not the actual email address the email was originally sent to.

Yeah i used to just forward all my different email addresess via Gmail since their filtering is great. Again the only problem with that is if my email that is on my BB is set to my personal address and i get a email forwarded from my business address and i reply to it, the reply to address will be my personal address and not my business address. The only way this works right now on TMO is that if BIS pulls the email via pop then i'm able to reply with the correct address.

Get yourself multiple Yahoo accounts. Beyond that, there aren't many other viable options. Even with a desktop client it's difficult to get instant mail from multiple POP sources.

I told you in another thread, have all your emails forwarded not popped to a gmail account, then use gmail to forward to BB. It is instantly I do it and I manage seven different e-maisls that way. Two from work, one from my cable account, one from yahoo, 3 different gmail accounts. All come to my main gmail account. From there they are all forwarded per filters I have set up to my BB (only what I want from who I want) instantly. Some times I get them on my BB before they show up on gmail itself or comcast or even work. And the bonus of all this is the Spam filters that gmail has are unequaled and unmatched by any free service out there.

I use Gmail also as filtering system but when you get a an email forwarded via gmail and then you reply to that email on your BB, the outgoing reply-to address changes to your primary bb address that you set up on your BB. The only way the repy-to address maintains the original address is if BIS has pulled it from a pop account that was set up in BIS.

Try that and let me know if i'm missing something.

Yeah, I just saw your other post recently about this, thanks. Now let me get this straight in my head. I have a .mac account I use as my main account. Now, if I forward all 5 of my other accounts to the .mac account, then forward that .mac account to the gmail acct to be run through filters, then pop the gmail account on my iBook and also forward gmail to BB, I should achieve what you speak of, right? The only problem would be that I would not be able to sync the .mac account with the online .mac service. But I guess I would have no need for synced email on the web because I have the BB with me everywhere and the emails would all go to it in the end, right? So I need to cancel the .mac sync with my iBook, forward all accts to .mac acct, forward the .mac acct to gmail acct, create all filters needed, forward leftover gmail to BB and pop the gmail acct on Apple Mail in the iBook - then I would have all email instantly to me on BB, filtered, and also waiting for me on iBook at home. My head hurts...

Okay, I got all of the forwarding done, but I tested the filters and mine don't work. I created two filters, one that says all matches of cialis OR xxxxxx are sent to trash and skipped the inbox, and another that says all emails that dont have xxxxxx OR cialis are skipped over inbox and forwarded to BB acct. Now I am getting the emails, but I am also getting my test emails, with just the word xxxxxx in the body. Any suggestions?
