Default Confused about DM

Please Login to Remove!

I am just trying to load documents to go. I am using DM and It tells me that it will remove Klondike (which is not on my BB) and will install DTG. Great.

But then it is now going thru and removing almost all of my 3rd party apps. I am hoping it will put them back but with my luck I am not taking bets. Even if it does, why would it remove all these apps?

Bob

If you loaded apps through Desktop Manager, they must remain in the same location on the PC. If they are not there, then DM wants to remove them. Sounds like that's what is happening.

Wirelessly posted

When you were going thru the steps on DM to install Docs-to-Go did you look and make sure that it didn't say "remove" next to all your third party apps?

Let me get this straight. So if most of my 3rd party apps are loaded OTA from Mobihand, BPLay, AppWorld, etc., and then I decide to use DM to load an app, I LOSE all my OTA apps. Tell me it is not so.

No - no one said that. If you loaded them through Desktop Manager, and then moved or deleted them from the PC, then DM would remove them from the BB.

OK, so then it should leave everything that I loaded OTA alone. The last time I had to load up this Tour, everything was loaded using JavaLoader, via BBSAK. So, are those modules considered ones that DM will remove? Does that mean that If I use JavaLoader to load apps, I need to keep them where I load them from?

Live and learn. I guess that once I let DM finish, I will have to reload everything and restore prefs and re-register all my apps. Again.....

Learn something new every time.

Thanks!!!

Is there some convention as to where I should locate the apps I reload using JavaLoader so DM can find them?

Nope - you have to POINT DM to them. Then don't move them.
