Default Blackberry 8900 Backup & Restore

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have reloaded my operating system and firmware, since i was experiencing problems with my phone not switching on at all, so now after i have reloaded the operating system the phone is fine and so i tried to restore the back up that i had taken before my phone had stopped functioning but after i have done a restore; everything fell back into place except for the contacts and contacts are not picking up from that back file. Please help.

I don't understand how your needing assistance with restoring your contacts requires a poll.

What is more important here, your restoration of the contacts, or getting my opinion on how user friendly I think my BlackBerry is?

So open DM > Backup/Restore > Advanced.

On the right is your device. On the left is your backup. If not, over that left pane, choose File > Open and navigate to your most recent IPD backup file.

Open it, and then scroll to the Address Book Database line, highlight it and use the center right-pointing arrow to move that database to your BlackBerry device.

Follow the prompts from there and you should be complete.

Hey thanks a lot got that done,

although i got the contacts back form the autobackup ipd file and not that ipd file that i had manually taken a back up why is that so ? is there a way that i can change the option for manual backups as well so henceforth such problem does not persist.

Thanks once again for your comments

When you upgrade, what is called a "Loader" backup is made.

When you do a manual backup, the word "loader" is not in the file name.

So, when you do a restore, you have the option of choosing which backup to use.. that is why I said "navigate to your most recent" backup file. You might choose the next to the last backup file, if you think it is more correct for you.

I have a better deal for you!

You could ship me your device and I will back up all of your data for you. Of course I would need the password to your device but you have my personal guarantee that I will not prank call/text/email any of your contacts. Once I've created the backup, I will ship the device back to you. I can do all of this for the low, low price of $49.95. That's a $10 savings over Cellular Phonebook Backup & Transfer For Dummies!!!

And if you ever need your data backed up again, or even restored, just follow the simple instruction above!
