Default Adding contacts to BB Messenger

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Nextel 7510 to which I upgraded the internal software to V. 4.0.2.37 last evening - HUGE DIFFERENCE.

There is a program called Blackberry Messenger.

I am trying to add a contact in this program. I click ADD CONTACT, which brings up my contacts list but from there I get lost as to what to do to add the contact.

Also, can I email a .jpg or a ringtone to myself and save that file for use?

Does the .jpg or .mid file have to be renamed or other wise manipulated? I am unable to open and save any attachments.

Thanks for the help.

it uses ur address book to send a request to the people you want to add-either via email or PIN (whatebver is in your address book). Once the invitiation is accepted by both sides, it will use the PIN to PIN technology to send messages to the user on BB Messenger.

When it goes to your address but then press U for [Use Once ] and then type you PIN number you are trying to add to the list. The name it will display for that contact will be the name that the use has under Options-->Owner
Good Luck

from my understanding of what you wrote, why would you add your own pin number?

Thanks for the great feedback and I figured out my problem - operator error. This works so slick, I was wondering what service is the BB messenger with/using? Is there a way that I could IM someone at their desktop if they had compatible software? Or is this unique to only those who have Blackberrys and BB Messenger?

Oh I know what he was talking about...yes it cant use that.

Also Orgullo, BB Messenger uses Pin to Pin ( A hardware hard coded number built in to the blackberry handheld). When using BB Messenger, its from BB-BB and not any other chat program.

If the said recepient doesnt have BB Messenger installed, you can still use PIN to PIN by going into the compose function and selecting pin as opossed to email.
