Press-and-hold keys I'm a long time user of the PalmOS & recent BB convert. I had my palm config'd such that when I pressed a key and held it, it would go from lower to upper case (like my BB does) but if I continued to hold it in, it would go from CAPS to symbols. I REALLY miss this and I'm hoping someone knows of a way to do that with my BB. Thanks. |
Sorry, doesn't work that way. Press the SYM key. |
Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer) The SYM key should be quicker actually. |
Wirelessly posted Thanks anyway. I would've preferred to be able to do this. But I'll get used to it. |
You will... (y) There's lots you'll get used to over time and wonder how you survived the PalmOS. |
Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer) Exactly! I came over from PalmOS as well and wonder how archaic it was learning to write their Grafitti with a stylus. |
Wirelessly posted I did pretty well with Grafitti. But I haven't used it about 4 years or so--I've been using Treos since then. |
Grafitti was revolutionary back in the day. So was Apple's Newton Handwriting Recognition. But that was a LONG time ago! What I now cannot live without is stuff like my BlackBerry automatically capitalizing the first letter after a period, or the first letter of a new paragraph. Adding in punctuation for me is also key. I type "dont" and it becomes "don't" without my having to worry about it. Still another phenomenal BB feature is Auto Text. I type "blb" and my Tour makes it "BlackBerry". Once you get to rely on these shortcuts, going back to any other device is pure hell. |
Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer) Ditto for computers as well. Don't know how many times I pressed the spacebar twice on my computer thinking I'd get a period after the sentence. |
