I am new to BB and after reading various threads, I sort of figure out that wireless syncing of MS outlook calendar/contacts is not possible for BIS users. (?)

For a start, my company is not using BES, so that option is out.
My questions are:

1. What then will happen will I received an appointment invite on my BB? If I accept it, does it means that it won't sync into my outlook calendar?

2. I won't be able to send out calendar invite via my BB wirelessly?

3. Most importantly, am I able to access my company outlook contact directory via my BB wirelessly?

Welcome to the forums.

1. You can accept the appointment and it will be put on your calendar on your BB. Where it syncs, depends on what email service you're using. I use Gmail, so it syncs to my Google Calendar.

2. Yes, you can send out calendar invites using your BB.

3. No, you can only access the company address book if your device is connected to a corporate BlackBerry server (BES).
