Question Blackberry Newbie Here: PC to BB: Calendar/ Tasks/ Memo

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

Greetings All.

I am new to this forum. In fact, I'm new to smartphones all together, so please bare with me. I'm learning.

I know similar questions have been asked on this topic. I have already read all of those posts but I'm looking for a more conclusive answer. My Blackberry Curve will primarily be used for business purposes.

I will be using the contacts, calendar, memos and tasks quite a bit to make sure I stay on top of my work. I find that doing this on my Blackberry is a little too time consuming. Is there a way that I can do these things on my PC and then sync them with my Blackberry? What software do I need? ... or do I just have to become more proficient with my Blackberry?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

IronMike

Welcome to the forums and to the world of the BlackBerry!

You can manage contacts, calendar, memos and tasks all via MS Outlook... then use the Desktop Manager software to sync that data with your BlackBerry.

You will have to sync locally (through a connected USB cable) to sync. But it's an easy process and will keep both MS Outlook and your BlackBerry in tune.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the responses. I really appreciate it.

Okay, now I have MS Outlook. I've filled out my schedule, dates, times, appts., memos, tasks, etc... All I have to do is hook up my BlackBerry to my PC and open BB Desktop Manager and sync? ... or is there something else I have to do?

I appreciate your patience.

Cheers,

IronMike

Yup it should be a pretty straight forward process. You might want to double check the settings for things like calendar. There's options for transferring all items, or only some of them if they are beyond a specified date range.
